Validus Risk Management is seeking a dedicated and experienced Corporate IT Support Engineer to join our team. As the Corporate IT Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining our IT infrastructure, systems, and security. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our technology function and support our colleagues across Europe and North America.
In this hands-on, fully office-based, role you will be responsible for working to best practices, with external suppliers, and ensuring that our IT environments are well maintained to meet our business needs. You will also be involved in asset tracking and management, and resolving monitoring issues, including security of hardware and software. Working closely with our HR, you will support onboarding processes for new employees.
Additionally, you will be expected to be able to work with suppliers and other third parties and play a pivotal role with our IT security frameworks, such as ISO 27001. This position will be based primarily in our London office, with some work in our Windsor office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for MacOS and Windows Environments.
- Ensure the IT equipment in the office is well maintained, having pride in your work.
- Have the ability to think outside the box and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
- Provide face to face local support and remote support to staff globally
- Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure including Cisco Meraki routers, switches, wireless and firewalls
- Perform hardware upgrades on end user devices
- Perform / monitor regular system updates and maintenance across the network
- Work closely with other IT team members to ensure cohesive and efficient operations, ensuring we continue to provide a proactive IT function.
- Document processes, procedures and solutions using our internal helpdesk system
- Security first mind-set, respond to security incidents and breaches promptly
- Microsoft 365 management and maintenance
- Asset register maintenance, be the go to person for all assets in the UK and Europe.
- Be part of IT transformation projects.
To be successful in this role, you should have relevant professional experience in IT Support for a global organisation, with a focus on corporate IT. Previous experience in the financial services industry or fintech will be beneficial.
Requirements:
- +2 years of experience in IT Support for a global organisation, providing local and remote support
- Knowledge in the following Windows 10/11, MacOS, iPhone/iOS, SharePoint Online, Ticketing Systems, MS Teams, MS 365, OneDrive, Azure/Active Directory, Exchange, Endpoint Management (Intune, Jamf Pro), Windows Server, PowerShell, Endpoint Security
- Communications – clear and precise communications for explaining technical issues and collaborating with other IT team members.
- Customer Service – ability to handle escalated issues with patience and professionalism, ensuring user satisfaction.
- Documentation – thoroughly document issues, solutions and processes to maintain accurate records and knowledge bases.
- Time management – effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and escalations to meeting SLAs.
- Team collaboration – work closely with the IT Manager and staff members in the organisation.
- Adaptability – stay updated with new technologies and adapt to changing environments and requirements.
- Training and mentoring – provide training and support to staff on new systems and current.
- Security awareness – strong understanding of IT security principles and practices to ensure systems are secure and compliant with regulations.
It would be preferred if the candidate also hold experience in:
- Experience with ISO27001
- Experience with SOC2
