About the role
As a Solutions Engineer, you will champion the technical pre‑sales process (≈60% of your time) and then lead the initial phase of client implementation and design (≈40%), working as part of the go‑to‑market organization and collaborating closely with Product. You’ll translate customer needs into tailored solutions, deliver compelling demos and proofs of concept, and ensure a seamless hand‑off from sales to delivery to drive business growth and minimize churn. Note: This role involves some limited travel (e.g. 1 trip/month) for client visits, internal team‑building, and conferences/events.
Key Responsibilities of the Solutions Engineer
- Pre‑Sales Engineering (60%)
- Develop and deliver custom product demonstrations, PoCs, and technical presentations
- Gather and document detailed customer requirements, use cases, and success criteria
- Architect solutions that align customer workflows with our platform capabilities
- Build RFP and proposal responses, collaborating with Sales to position the right solution
- Leverage Postman (or similar tools) to design, validate, and demonstrate API interactions
- Serve as the technical liaison between the client, sales, and product teams
- Project manage implementations with leading customers across product and support teams
- Lead onboarding workshops and technical kickoff sessions
- Lead API integration activities and guidance sessions with customers
- Produce solution design documents, integration guides, and data‑mapping specifications
- Configure APIs and platform settings to support use cases
Success Measures
- Ensure smooth hand‑off from sales to delivery, driving positive first‑year outcomes
- Contribute to growing the business by setting clients up for long‑term success
- Minimize year 1 churn and downgrades through clear requirements and strong early engagement
- Provide ongoing feedback to product on features, usability, and roadmap priorities
About You
Core Qualifications
- 5–7 years in a solutions‑engineering, technical consulting, or similar customer‑facing role
- Proven track record in both pre‑sales cycles and/or leading client implementations
- Strong API & integration experience within a B2B environment, with hands‑on use of Postman or equivalent
- Strong technical acumen and demonstrable solutions‑focused delivery
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis; ability to map and transform financial or accounting data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfort working remotely and collaborating across time zones (North America and UK)
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience working with a series B+ B2B SaaS product
- Experience working within Financial Services
- Familiarity with commercial and/or asset‑based lending workflows; and/or audit workflows
- Experience with ERP or accounting platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Experience with audit software
- Experience with commercial lending software (e.g. Moody’s, Solifi, etc.)
- Knowledge of basic security/compliance considerations
