Aday is a direct-to-consumer brand with the aim to lift the standard for clothing through great design and a better supply chain. We’re a team of optimists based in London, in various cities in the US and across the globe, dedicated to making positive changes in the world around us. We’ve raised over $10m in venture capital and were named one of the Most Innovative Companies in the World by Fast Company.

We’re committed to building each other up and being there for our teammates—we’re an Aday family. We are excited about the future of ADAY and the future of each of our teammates. We are passionate about personal growth and we’re here to support each person in their journey, no matter what that looks like. We know that diversity is what makes us great. We’re committed to diversity in all areas, and we believe that every person on our team has an important point of view that deserves to be heard, no matter the role or seniority.

This Role: Aday is looking for an awesome individual to work with the Aday Product Team across all things technical design and product development. Throughout your internship, you will learn first-hand the design and development processes within the fashion industry. You will help produce technical drawings, organise and run sample fittings, and be directly involved in creating innovative new products. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn how to use a PLM system, communicate with factories, and directly impact the development of new products. You will also engage in weekly meetings with the entire Aday team and actively participate in group brainstorms and discussions.

We are online-first and use digital media and events to tell our customers a story. Our designs use innovative materials and technical finishes that push the boundaries of functionality and creativity. Maintaining such a balance is the enduring challenge of our product team. We are primarily looking for a self-starter who is excited to learn the skills and understanding necessary in building a flourishing fashion brand.

You should be excited about:

  • Design with a keen eye for detail and closing the loop
  • Developing products from a technical point of view
  • Taking a design and developing it into a physical product
  • Problem-solving to create the best outcome possible
  • Being hands-on with samples
  • Growing your skills and learning new things
  • Being part of a fast-moving environment

You should have:

  • Extensive experience of Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong pattern cutting and sewing abilities
  • Great organisational skills
  • A passion for the intersection of design with performance
  • Some technical design knowledge

Your Future Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Editing CADs and keeping tech packs up to date, cataloguing and tracking samples, managing shipping of samples for factories and photoshoots
  • In-house sampling: Sourcing sampling fabrics, pattern cutting, sewing, spec all samples before fittings, prep all samples for each fitting, document and take notes during each fitting, format and upload to the PLM system

You will have the opportunity to work on other projects that play to your strengths, curiosities and interests. We’d love to help you learn about different aspects of a direct consumer brand.
