Serve as a Plans and Operational Analyst in a Part Time on Call capacity. This position is with the Joint Staff J7 in Suffolk, Virginia. The incumbent will provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in limited time frames to meet Joint Force Development (JFD) customer requirements. SME support will be provided to one or more divisions of Joint Staff (JS) J7, Deputy Director Joint Training (DDJT) to include the Joint Exercise Division (JExD), the Deployable Training Division (DTD), the Plans and Operations Division (POD) and the Service Joint Training Division (SJTD). Primary location of work is Suffolk, Virginia.

- Joint/Service Doctrine
- Military training
- Deliberate and Rapid military planning
- Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) operations
- Exercise design
- Operational Environment (OE) Planning
- Opposing Force/Situational Force (OPFOR/SITFOR) campaign planning
- Scenario Planning
- Models and Simulation (M&S) operations
- Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) planning
- Sustainment planning
- Intel planning and targeting
- Information Environment (IE) and Media planning
- Technical requirements development
- Test plan development
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Risk mitigation
- Lessons learned and After Action Review (AAR) development
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office presentation, word processing, spreadsheet and collaboration applications
- Ability to work as part of a team to develop products that support the Joint Exercise Division's mission.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. passport
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a secret security clearance
- Must be able to travel unassisted to CONUS and overseas locations to perform job duties
- Skilled in all aspects of communications for the preparation and presentation of white papers, briefings and classroom instruction
Preferred:
- 4 years' experience as a commissioned officer, noncommissioned officer, or DoD civilian equivalent including 2 years' experience in planning and conducting military training for a service or joint/combined organization
- Bachelor's degree (service experience may substitute)
- Have or able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
