London Office Internship (Summer 2026) in the Public and Government Affairs Department. £28,000 pa (pro-rata). Valero products fuel modern life and make a better future possible. We are looking for an exceptional student to join our London Office Internship in the summer of 2026.

In Summer of 2026 we are hiring an intern to work in our London office in the Public & Government Affairs Department (PGPA). The placement will be for 8 weeks sometime between June to early September. The successful candidate will be given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the work of the department, including:
- Political and parliamentary monitoring of developments relevant to Valero's European business.
- Policy research and analysis on topics related to the refining and downstream fuels sector.
- Mapping key stakeholders across Valero's European business.
- Support stakeholder outreach, including assisting in planning site visits and external meetings.
- Preparing tailored briefings for internal and external audiences.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills and Qualities:
- A demonstrable interest in UK and EU politics, policy or government affairs.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent research skills and close attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
Academic Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline. Graduation date May 2027 onwards preferred (to ensure internship relevance).
Eligibility:
- Able to commute to Canary Wharf.
- Able to work 35 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
