The Chief Refinery Inspector ensures that refinery fixed equipment is reliable and safe to operate. Supervises and provides leadership and direction to the Inspection Department. Provides supervision and coordination of contract inspection personnel during shutdown and extended duration inspection projects. Provides expertise, direction, supervision, and coordination in inspection and testing of fixed equipment. Develops and implements inspection programs to ensure the reliability and safety of fixed equipment. Provides root‑cause failure analysis of components, including corrosion research, reporting and supervision of metallurgical analysis. Publishes written reports on inspection findings and failure analysis. Reviews and edits inspection recommendations and reports for code and engineering compliance. Provides inspection expertise through review, verification, and acceptance of design, fabrication, repair, alteration, and testing activities for pressure equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Provides inspection guidance in turnaround planning. Supports the Mechanical Reliability Manager as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be on call as needed.

Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience with fixed equipment reliability and/or engineering experience preferred.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required.
- Chartered membership with a relevant institution required.
- Demonstrable, in‑depth knowledge of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR).
- Extensive working knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API & NBIC codes applicable to the refining industry.
- Industry inspection qualifications preferable: API 510, API 570, API 653, API 571, API 577, API 580, EEMUA 159.
- Working knowledge of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology is required.
- Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
