Do you have the expertise and drive to build safer, smarter, and more sustainable workplaces? At our iconic Kettle Chips site, we are looking for a proactive Health Safety Manager to elevate our standards and champion a culture of safety across the factory.
What will our Health and Safety Manager do:
- Lead and deliver the Valeo Foods Health Safety strategy, ensuring all KPIs and objectives are achieved.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure full legal compliance and embed best-practice solutions across site operations.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships that encourage collaboration, shared ownership, and accountability.
- Investigate accidents and major incidents, identifying root causes and sharing learning to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee safe working practices for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring operational excellence.
- Conduct, review, and validate risk assessments, ensuring effective controls are in place and maintained.
- Manage first aid provision, PPE processes, and occupational health support to protect and support our people.
- Work with HR and L&D teams to deliver impactful EHS training and keep compliance records up to date.
- Champion a safety-first culture, continuously improving systems in line with evolving standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Hold the NEBOSH Diploma as a minimum qualification.
- IOSH, COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, COMAH regulation awareness.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager in a manufacturing (ideally FMCG) or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health Safety legislation and best practice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence at all levels.
