Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an internal employee to join our team as a Night Shift Manager . Reporting to the Production Manager the core purpose of this role is to lead a team in the day to day running of the production teams and to achieve their Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Engagement and Sustainability targets, by demonstrating role model behaviors and adherence to processes.
- Ensure that all team members are trained and assessed for the positions they are working in and rotated through the different positions within their team each day.
- Demonstrate and follow the agreed standard operating procedures, by role modelling the correct standards and behaviours to your team members.
- Ensure the team follows the standard operating procedures, work instructions and escalation processes for raw materials and component parts with regards to quality defects
- Ensure all shop orders are closed in a timely manner and investigate any discrepancies.
- Complete the operational shift handover with the opposite shift manager to ensure issues are efficiently communicated between the shifts.
- Hold effective short interval control (SIC) team meetings.
Qualifications
Qualifications and knowledge
- A good working knowledge of all the equipment on the packing lines.
- Able to train and assess team members in all packing positions within the team.
- Good problem solver who is proactive in recommending and implementing actions to solve issues or improve ways of working.
- Good knowledge of policies and procedures relating to food preparation and packing.
- Good organisational skills.
- Prioritisation of own workload.
- Good communication with peers.
- NVQ Level 2 Team Leader qualification.(Desired)
- Good knowledge of COSH
Qualities and Experience
- Good knowledge of IFS shop orders
