Valeo Foods UK are looking for motivated and reliable Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team at our Blackpool site. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced confectionery manufacturing environment, producing gums and jellies. We are ideally looking for candidates with machine operating experience, preferably within food manufacturing, although strong machine operation experience from other industries will also be considered as food manufacturing processes can be taught. The environment can be hot and dusty, so candidates must be comfortable working in these conditions and be physically capable of carrying out manual duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating and monitoring production machinery safely and efficiently
  • Supporting the manufacturing process for gums and jellies
  • Handling and lifting 10kg trays throughout the shift
  • Carrying out frequent manual handling tasks
  • Working closely with a team of operators and line staff
  • Monitoring machinery performance and identifying potential issues
  • Supporting engineers and technicians during machine breakdowns when required
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and housekeeping
  • Remaining observant and proactive to ensure your own safety and the safety of others

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous machine operating experience is essential
  • Food manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
  • A positive attitude with plenty of drive and enthusiasm
  • Someone with a “get up and go” mentality who takes initiative
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work closely with others
  • Safety-conscious and observant in a fast-moving production environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn

Shifts: 6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10am (rotate each week) Monday to Friday

Overtime: time and a half up until 12pm Saturday and double time from 12pm Saturday until Sunday
