We're Hiring Multi-skilled Engineers – Join Us in Gateshead!

Valeo Foods UK is on the lookout for talented Multi-skilled Engineers to join our team at our Gateshead site – home of the much-loved tortilla crisps and rice cakes. If you're passionate about engineering, thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and want to be part of a positive can-do team that keeps some of the UK’s favourite snacks on the shelves, we’d love to hear from you!

What you'll be doing:

  • Daily repair of machinery and carrying out proactive tasks when possible
  • Planning and Monitoring machine performance
  • Supporting External Contractors
  • Technical support for production when required
  • To maintain the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean as you go policy.
  • To maintain the highest standards when completing paperwork and works sign off.

Key areas of the role:

  • H&S and safe work practices
  • Food safety, minimizing day to day risks with running of the plant and involving contractors
  • Plan is king, ensure that the company can hit its required targets
  • Firefighting machinery / site services upkeep and carrying out ongoing maintenance PPM in a timely manner
  • Promote and contribute to the continuous improvement of the running of the company
  • Minimize down time
  • Train / guide production staff in the correct way to treat our machinery and help train our maintenance technicians from within our department.
  • Work on projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager
  • Any other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification with basic mechanical skills
  • Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation and electrical safety
  • Proactive / use your own initiative
  • Experience of FMCG operations
  • PC Literate (thereby able to use computer-based maintenance systems)
