As a QA Technician / Fields person you will be working closely with both the Factory & their grower supply base to collect and report data on fry quality, tuber defects & yield.
You will mainly be field/farm based collecting samples to return to the lab, and then assisting in the QA process. During summer months this will be mainly in field, and autumn/winter months you will be visiting potato stores regularly for quality checks across East Anglia.
There may be opportunities in the future to progress the role further into developing grower facing relations, seed management, trialling of new varieties and potato store management, training for BASIS and FACTS Qualifications.
- Working alongside the QA Team and KFL’S supply chain coordinator and standing in as required during holidays etc
- Reporting to the Ag Team for day-to-day instruction.
- You will manage your own daily workload to provide samples for the QA Lab.
- You will be comfortable with travelling independently in a company vehicle to field & farm locations to collect samples.
- Aid inputting of records into QA database.
- To ensure accurate and complete information flow on both growing crop, harvesting and stored crop QC data – the role will need solid IT skills on data entry and excel, flexibility during peaks of work is required, specifically July to November when harvesting is taking place.

Qualifications
- Previous qualifications are not necessary, but the role would suit somebody who is comfortable working both outside & indoors, has an eye for detail and has good organisation/communication skills.
- Experience of the potato sector or agriculture would be useful, but not required as training will be given.
- Effective communication skills are essential
- A valid, clean driving licence is essential.
