Job Description
Food Production Operatives Day Shift
Shifts: Monday–Friday, rotating early (6:00–14:00) and late (14:00–22:00)
Join us as a Food Production Operative at our Valeo Foods York site — home of Poppets and XXX Mints — where we produce some of the UK’s most loved confectionery. Every role here plays a vital part in keeping our products moving from factory to fans.
About the role
As a Food Production Operative, you’ll work hands-on with our machinery and production lines. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating equipment
- Monitoring performance and quality
- Troubleshooting and adjusting machinery to keep production running smoothly
It’s a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential, and your contribution will directly help deliver treats enjoyed across the country.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for in our Food Production Operatives:
- You don’t need previous experience — just a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
- If you enjoy practical work, solving problems, and being part of a supportive team, you’ll fit right in.
- We’re looking for reliable people who work well in a team and feel comfortable in a busy factory environment.
- Because the shifts rotate, living locally or having your own transport is a real advantage.
- Previous factory experience is useful but not essential — we hire for potential and will provide all the training you need.
Our application process
There’s no CV required. Instead, you’ll complete a short Arctic Shores assessment that helps us understand your strengths and working style. We want to get to know the real you, not just your work history.
Additional Information
