Job Description
We\’re looking for a talented Finance Business Partner – Accounting & Controls to join our UK Finance team. This role sits at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring robust financial control and delivering high-quality reporting, while acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the business.
You\’ll be the key liaison between our finance function and business units-translating numbers into narratives, supporting strategic decisions, and maintaining financial integrity across our operations. It\’s a high-visibility role with the chance to make a real impact.
Your focus will be on driving accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and controls across the UK business. You will:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring integrity of the general ledger and internal reporting.
- Prepare financial packs and group reporting to Valeo Group, with alignment to internal results and OneStream outputs.
- Own the relationship with our Dutch accounting and tax advisors for subsidiary support.
- Oversee tax compliance-VAT, corporation tax, and R&D claims-liaising with HMRC, group tax teams, and external consultants.
- Maintain the group fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies.
- Manage our insurance process with brokers and coordinate annual renewals.
- Support internal and external audits with appropriate documentation and financial analysis.
Crucially, you\’ll be a proactive business partner-working with a variety of stakeholders across finance, operations, and commercial teams to provide actionable insight and support business decision-making.
Qualifications
We\’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 3-5 years\’ PQE in a financial control, accounting, or finance business partner role.
- Proven experience in month-end close, reporting, and tax compliance, preferably in a group or multi-entity structure.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong systems knowledge (e.g., Sage, Oracle, IFS) and confident in Microsoft Excel.
- A collaborative mindset-you\’re someone who works well cross-functionally, building relationships and driving alignment.
- Industry experience in FMCG or food is helpful, but not essential.
