The ER Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment within the organisation, ensuring smooth communication and resolving conflicts effectively. This role will oversee and implement policies and programmes that impact the employee life cycle. Additionally, the role will ensure compliance with employment law and regulations.
Support with the implementation of the UK Employee Relations strategy, policy, framework and procedures.
- Lead and manage complex employee relations cases across multiple locations, ensuring consistency, fairness, and legal compliance.
- Provide expert guidance on disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
- Lead and develop an ER team, setting clear objectives and supporting professional growth.
- Partner with senior stakeholders and HR colleagues to proactively address workforce challenges and reduce ER risk.
- Maintain and develop effective working relationships across the UK workforce.
- Analyse ER trends and metrics to identify patterns and implement preventative strategies.
- Internal contact for employment law queries.
- Manage the relationship with our retained employment law partner, reviewing performance and service provision.
- Drive and manage ER projects.
- Build capability by working with Senior HR BP’s, People Managers and L&D to ensure appropriate training and support is provided.
- Provide data on key KPI’s for the HR team.
- Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures and consultations.
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date and aligned with best practice and employment legislation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an Employee Relations-focused role within a multi-site or fast-moving environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR policy and procedure.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience in leading change.
- Skilled in leading a team, with a strong coaching style.
- In-depth experience in Employee Relations, handling employee relations matters within a business.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations and our own HR policies and procedures.
- Understanding of conflict resolution methods and mediation skills.
- Experience of using HRIS systems.
- Skilled at data analysis and presenting outputs.
- Willingness to travel regularly between sites.
