Rowse, a part of Valeo Foods UK is looking for a Warehouse Manager to lead and promote a safe working environment and to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety inspections, and delivering training to prevent accidents and injuries. Day shift (Mon‑Fri) with expectation to flex to meet team needs.
Responsibilities:
- Motivating the team, providing training and development opportunities, and fostering a positive work culture to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
- Ensure procedures for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of finished goods are completed in line with required food manufacturing safety standards. Promoting a culture of food safety is essential.
- Deliver timely and accurate order fulfilment to meet both internal and external customer expectations. This involves supplying materials to the production lines to deliver the production plan, managing order processing, shipping, and returns efficiently.
- Identify areas for improvement within the warehouse operation and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall KPI performance as well as reducing waste.
- Collaborate with other departmental managers to develop and implement strategies for continual improvement.
- Ensure that all warehouse personnel receive appropriate health and safety training, instruction, and supervision to perform their duties safely. This includes providing training on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in the Health and Safety meetings, reporting and investigating accidents and near misses.
- Conduct regular GMP and safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs of the warehouse facility and other manufacturing areas to identify risk.
Qualifications:
- Proven knowledge of health and safety legislation, accident and near miss reporting and root cause analysis.
- Logistics experience gained in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, preferably within food manufacturing and working alongside 3rd party logistics providers.
- Previous leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals and objectives in line with our values and behaviours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.
- Prior experience in setting and managing a cost centre to deliver the budget.
- Understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) and the ability to implement initiatives to improve efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ability to create and maintain standard operating procedures within a document‑controlled process.
- Prior experience of IFS is an advantage or knowledge of alternative WMS/ERP systems.
- Proficient user of Microsoft office applications including Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.
- A counterbalance truck license or the ability to pass our inhouse assessment to operate one.
