Join Valeo Foods UK as a Production Manager in Norwich. Valeo Foods is a leading food manufacturer, known for brands such as Kettle Crisps, Rowse Honey, and Matthew Walker puddings, among others. We are seeking a passionate and driven leader to help shape our production processes.
Job Description
As the Production Manager you will act as the guardian of our production, ensuring that all resources are utilised efficiently to exceed our KPIs. You will maintain high standards of health and safety, foster team development, and keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Management – Oversee overall factory operations, ensuring continuous, high‑quality manufacturing.
- Team Leadership – Lead, mentor and manage area managers across departments to meet production goals.
- Production Planning – Develop and execute schedules based on demand and inventory needs.
- Quality Control – Enforce strict adherence to quality standards and work with the Technical team to meet specifications.
- Safety & Compliance – Ensure all safety regulations and company policies are followed, promoting a safe environment.
- Cost Management – Monitor and manage production costs, identifying improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Process Optimization – Continuously assess and improve processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Reporting & Analysis – Provide regular reports on performance, downtime and operational issues; present data‑driven insights to senior management.
- Staff Development – Identify training needs and foster ongoing development opportunities.
- Collaboration – Work closely with maintenance, supply chain, CI and other departments for smooth integration.
Qualifications & Behaviours
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, health & safety and food safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT and PC knowledge; able to use relevant software.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and handle pressure.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
- An aptitude to develop new skills.
