Job Description

Process Production Manager (Pre‑cook)

Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3.30pm, Heanor – Matthew Walker site.

We are looking for a passionate and driven Process Production Manager (Pre‑cook) to join our production crew at our Matthew Walker site in Heanor and help us sprinkle some sparkle onto our operations. As the Process Production Manager (Pre‑cook) you will support the Manufacturing Manager in delivering the vision, strategy and the day‑to‑day tactical plan for the factory, including food safety requirements. Critically review and monitor operating results to ensure the operation is working inside plan, yield, wastage, energy, labour and material costs and to specifically update and recommend action to the Manufacturing Manager.

Managing a team of Team Leaders & production staff to ensure products are produced to agreed standards, in the correct volumes, in a safe and timely manner and in a cost effective way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achievement of area KPIs/Operational goals/metrics – accidents/incidents, food safety, variances, quality, overheads, volume, OEE, finished goods stock levels to target, headcount, absence
  • Delivery of area plan against budget
  • Define and deliver continuous improvement activity
  • Embedding of appropriate behaviours across the workforce within the area
  • Carry out 1-1s with direct reports
  • Best in class audit achievements across area
  • Drive levels of accountability across area of responsibility

Qualifications

  • Experience of challenging targets in a FMGC or food manufacturing background.
  • Operating in a working environment where Lean manufacturing is established or has experience of transforming an existing operation using Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Building high performing teams within world class operations
  • Demonstrable ability in Manufacturing best practice techniques
  • Ability to engage front line employees and mobilise teams in pursuit of common goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of understanding areas of quality control, crisis management, health, safety, environment and effective cost management
  • Organisation and scheduling of projects, tasks and resources and set up and monitor timescales and plans.
  • Sound commercial skills with experience of a customer-focused business
  • KPIs/cost control improvement through measurement.
  • Level 4 Management Qualification or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of IT skills (email, Excel, Word, SAP)

  • Exceptional leadership and communications skills
