Job Description:

  • Multi-skilled Engineer - Electrical Bias - Based at Gateshead
  • 4 on 4 off, 6am till 6pm and 6pm till 6am (rotating shifts)

We are hiring Electrically biased Multi skilled Engineers to join our team at our Gateshead site, home of the much-loved tortilla crisps and rice cakes. If you are passionate about engineering, thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and want to be part of a positive can-do team that keeps some of the UKs favourite snacks on the shelves, we would love to hear from you!

  • Planning and Monitoring machine performance
  • Monitoring failure
  • Supporting External Contractors
  • Technical support for production when required
  • To maintain the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean as you go policy.
  • Food safety, minimizing day to day risks with running of the plant and involving contractors
  • Firefighting machinery / site services upkeep and carrying out ongoing maintenance PPM in a timely manner
  • Train / guide production staff in the correct way to treat our machinery and help train our maintenance technicians from within our department.
  • Work on projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager
  • Any other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager

Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification with basic mechanical skills. Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation and electrical safety. Experience of FMCG operations. PC Literate (thereby able to use computer-based maintenance systems).
