We’re Hiring Electrically biased Multi-skilled Engineers to join our team at our Gateshead site, home of the much-loved tortilla crisps and rice cakes. What you’ll be doing:
- Daily repair of machinery and carrying out proactive tasks when possible
- Planning and monitoring machine performance
- Monitoring failure
- Supporting external contractors
- Technical support for production when required
- Maintaining the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean as you go policy
- Completing paperwork and works sign off to the highest standards
Key areas of the role:
- Health & Safety and safe work practices
- Food safety, minimising day-to-day risks with running of the plant and involving contractors
- Planning to ensure that the company can hit its required targets
- Firefighting machinery / site services upkeep and ongoing maintenance
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in a timely manner
- Promoting and contributing to the continuous improvement of the running of the company
- Minimising downtime
- Training and guiding production staff in the correct way to treat our machinery and helping train our maintenance technicians from within our department
- Working on projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager
- Any other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager
Qualifications:
- Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification with basic mechanical skills
- Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation and electrical safety
- Proactive and able to use your own initiative
- Experience of FMCG operations
- PC literate (thereby able to use computer-based maintenance systems)

- 4 on 4 off, 6am till 6pm and 6pm till 6am (rotating shifts)
