A vacancy has arisen for a Multi-skilled Site Service Lead Engineer within our engineering department in Cleckheaton. As a Multi-Skilled Site Services Lead Engineer, you will be a key player in the operational team, ensuring optimum ‘plant critical’ asset availability. The role will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and deputise for them in their absence.
You should be enthusiastic and alert in your approach to work, identifying & helping to develop improvements in reliability and efficiency. You must work with high standards and have an awareness of Health & Safety expectations associated with your responsibility. You will need good communication skills, be able to work in a high-pressure environment, and thrive working in a busy team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Boiler maintenance and function testing to ensure backup steam supply is available to production demand at all times.
- Ensure all legislation is met with strict management of compliance such as PSSR, LOLER and site critical PPMS (legionella).
- Daily effluent management to ensure emissions are within consent allowances through regular checks, adjustments and water analysis.
- Water network compliance and integrity. Legionella control and continuous improvement towards RA closure.
- Carry out Electrical & Mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Provide cover to Engineering Shift Teams as and when required, holidays/sickness/training courses.
- Development and implement action plans to address root cause of all failures.
- Support the Engineering Shift Teams in production breakdown repairs to FMCG machinery within the production area as and when instructed.
- Attend breakdowns promptly and ensure all action tracker and planned maintenance tasks are completed.
- Utility meter readings. Weekly chemical stocktakes and re-order completion.
- Contractor control. PTW issue. Insurance inspection coordination.
- Managing and completing the site's Electricity, Gas and water usage.
- Overall responsibility in the Services Department including Boilers, Compressors, and Effluent plant.
- Responsibility and management of the Engineering Services team such as planning workload priorities as well as managing the 5S strategy.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Engineering qualification ‘with’ apprenticeship (HNC, C&G, BTEC).
- Must have or be willing to receive training towards Boiler Fundamentals onto BOAS.
- HACCP, GMP adherence knowledge.
- Fault finding and diagnostics experience.
- Electrical skills/understanding.
- Basic pipework knowledge and safe isolation RA for pressurised systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of 5S responsibilities.
Additional Information:
Hours: Monday – Friday, with the availability to work some weekends when required (40 hours per week).
