Maintenance Operative in Rochdale

Site Operative – Monthly Compliance & General Site Support Valenti Recruitment are looking for a reliable and practical Site Operative to support our client site in Rochdale on a monthly basis starting ASAP. The role will involve completing routine emergency lighting checks and water temperature checks across the site, alongside general practical tasks and site support as required. You will be provided with instructions on where the relevant equipment and checks are located, and the equipment required to complete the compliance checks will be provided on site. This would suit someone who is hands-on, practical and happy working independently in an industrial environment. The role is not a formal maintenance position however, general maintenance experience and your own basic tools would be advantageous, as occasional minor repairs may be required. Duties Include: * Completing monthly emergency lighting checks across the site * Completing routine water temperature checks * Following site instructions and recording completed checks accurately * Carrying out general site clearance and keeping areas clean and tidy * Assisting with ad hoc practical tasks around the site * Supporting with general labouring and site maintenance tasks as required * Minor repairs and basic maintenance where required, such as replacing door handles or fixing minor issues * Reporting any issues, defects or concerns identified during site checks * Working safely and following site procedures at all times Hours & Frequency: 1 day per month 8:30am – 4:30pm Ongoing monthly work The specific working day will be agreed in advance Pay: £150 per day Paid weekly on a Friday Self-employed role Requirements: * Comfortable completing Emergency Light & Water Temperature checks * Reliable, punctual and able to commit to the monthly visit * Practical and comfortable carrying out hands-on work * Physically able to undertake general site clearance and labouring tasks * Comfortable working in an industrial site environment * Good attention to detail, particularly when completing compliance checks * Able to follow written and verbal instructions * Own basic hand tools * Previous site, maintenance, labouring or facilities experience would be beneficial * Own transport preferred * Must be self-employed and able to invoice What We Offer: Ongoing monthly work £150 per day Weekly payment Site equipment provided for the required compliance checks PPE provided if required Opportunity for additional ad hoc work where available
