We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a vital role in keeping production running smoothly through planned maintenance, reactive fault-finding, and continuous improvement projects. You will work closely with production teams to reduce downtime, enhance equipment reliability, and drive operational excellence across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Reactive Maintenance: Attend breakdowns quickly and effectively with a first-time fix mentality.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance and log activities through the CMMS system.
- Process Improvement: Support engineering-led projects that reduce costs, improve output, and enhance reliability.
- Health & Safety: Maintain high safety standards and ensure all activities comply with site regulations and risk assessments.
- Team Collaboration: Train production operatives in basic machine operations and ensure SOPs are followed.
- Project Involvement: Work with the Engineering Manager on site-wide improvements and large-scale projects.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years experience in an engineering role within FMCG (ideally food manufacturing).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline (electrical maintenance preferred).
- HNC or equivalent qualification desirable.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Able to work under pressure and manage workload effectively across shifts.
- Positive team player with a hands-on approach and a focus on continuous improvement.
