Mechanical Machine Setter / Changeover Technician

Valenti Recruitment are proud to be working with a long-established manufacturer in Knutsford to recruit a Mechanical Machine Setter / Changeover Technician to join their experienced engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience carrying out machine setups, production changeovers and tool changes who is looking for a long-term career within a successful manufacturing business.

Working on a permanent days shift, you'll be responsible for preparing production machinery for manufacture, carrying out changeovers, changing mould tools and ensuring equipment is operating efficiently with minimal downtime. As your knowledge develops, you'll also gain exposure to wider mechanical maintenance activities and become an integral part of the engineering team.

The Role

You'll play a key part in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring machinery is correctly prepared and set for each production run. Your duties will include:

  • Machine changeovers
  • Production changeovers
  • Changing mould tools
  • Setting production machinery
  • Machine setup and adjustment
  • Mechanical fault finding during setup
  • Preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Lubrication and mechanical servicing
  • Mechanical inspections
  • Working with bearings, belts, chains and mechanical components
  • Supporting production to minimise downtime
  • Working alongside maintenance engineers
  • Maintaining excellent health & safety standards

About You

We're looking for someone from a manufacturing environment with experience carrying out machine setting or production changeovers. You'll likely have worked as a:
