Permanent part-time, term-time role. 39 working weeks and 6.4 weeks paid holiday. 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. Pay: £12.60 per hour (£18,600 gross per annum).

About this role

Valence School is seeking a Student Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for students with additional needs during the school day and in residential settings. You’ll help students reach their potential academically, socially, and personally while supporting their independence and wellbeing.

What You’ll Do

  • Support students’ learning, personal care and development in line with their care plans.
  • Assist with medication, gastro feeds, and health needs following training.
  • Enable students to join in activities and develop life skills.
  • Safely manage students requiring medical or physical support, following risk assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents to ensure high standards of care.
  • Study towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, if applicable.
