EDUCATION SUPPORT ASSISTANT (MATHS)
Part Time – Term Time Only – Permanent
Monday to Friday – 20 hours per week – 8.45am to 12.45pm
£11,909 gross p.a. – £13.11 per hour (39 working weeks and 6.4 weeks paid holiday)

As an Education Support Assistant you will support the Maths teacher in delivering a wide and varied curriculum to students across the school. You will have a sound understanding of mathematics and be able to work on your own initiative and communicate effectively at all levels. This role will involve:
Supporting, informing and advising other support staff deployed in Maths lessons to enable them to effectively support students’ learning and communication;
Developing and preparing resources for Maths activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to student needs;
Leading on small group activities to ensure exam students are well prepared for entry;
Being an advocate for the subject so that students are inspired to learn.
You will have a good command of Mathematics, and a good general education including GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 5/C or above in English and Maths.
Valence School is a KCC Foundation residential and day Special School for children and young people with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning and communication difficulties. The school is set on a beautiful campus on the outskirts of Westerham and is part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT).
