The Vale Youth Service is a part of the Learning and Skills Directorate of the Vale of Glamorgan Council. We support young people aged 11-25 through informal and non-formal educational opportunities to support them in achieving their full potential. We provide safe environments for young people to enjoy themselves and meet others; feel valued; access information and support; and learn new skills.

About the role

Pay Details: Grade 6 SPC 14-19 £29,540 – £32,061 per annum (£15.31 - £16.62 per hour)

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: This is a full-time position consisting of 37 hours per week, 52 weeks. The successful candidate will need to be available 8:30am to 8:30pm, including evening and occasional weekend working. This will be undertaken flexibly through working hours.

Main Place of Work: Office based at the Civic Offices, Barry, but working throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

Temporary Reason: This is a temporary employment due to grant funding.

Description: You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Families First Funded project operated by the Youth Service. Your role will be to provide personalised support to young carers aged 8-17 years with general wellbeing support and providing respite opportunities to the service users. This will be achieved through 1:1 and group work within schools and community settings within the Vale of Glamorgan.
