About Us

Shared Lives is a service within Adult Services in the Vale of Glamorgan County Council. We recruit Carers who have their own homes to support individuals with varying needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, mental health issues and dementia. Our assessed and trained Carers then open their own family home to the person needing support, both Carer and Individual are carefully matched.

The Role

Pay Details: Grade 3 (spinal point 4) £25,185 (pro rata), £13.05 per hour

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 30 hours per week / 6 hours per day

Main Place of Work: Hen Goleg, Barry

Temporary Reason: This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join the Shared Lives team as an administrator, creating and maintaining a number of databases relating to placements and community support. Good working knowledge of the relevant software will be essential. The postholder will also fulfil a support role to the Team Manager, Project Workers and other professionals.

  • You will need:
  • Experience of working in a busy office and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience of maintenance of both Spreadsheets and Databases
  • Experience of team working
  • Good all-round computer knowledge, including computer-based information systems Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and retrieve information
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Educated to G.C.S.E level or equivalent experience
