About Us
Registration (and, subject to further training, the opportunity of conducting) of marriages, civil partnerships and non-statutory ceremonies at the Register Office and other locations in the Vale of Glamorgan. Work is normally planned in advance, with much of the work being on weekends, in addition to some weekday work. ‘Doctors, midwives, ministers of religion, funeral directors and anyone working in the life assurance industry are not allowed to become registrars.’

About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 3, SCP 4 ,£24,404 (p.a, Pro Rata), (£12.65 – £18.975 per hour)
Hourly rate enhancements are paid for unsociable hours, weekends, and bank holidays (plus lieu day for bank holidays)
Times Monday – Friday Saturday Sunday and Hourly rate Bank Holidays 6 am – 10 pm Plain time Time & 1/4 Time & 1/2
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Weekends, Monday – Friday, Bank holidays, as required
Main Place of Work: Civil Offices, Holton Road, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan CF63 4RU
Description: The Vale of Glamorgan is welcoming applications for a Relief Registrar within its Registration Service. This is an excellent opportunity to put down roots in an Authority that has a proven track record for making a difference and excellent performance. The Registration Service provides a variety of statutory and non-statutory services. Its primary role is to register the births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships that take place in the Vale, making it an integral part of the lives of local residents.
About You
You will need:
- Experience of dealing with the public, good communication and a professional attitude. Public Speaking/registration experience would be highly desirable.
