About The Role
- Pay Details: Grade 3 - £25,185 pro rata, £13.05 /hr + enhancements paid for weekends, bank holidays & unsociable hours worked.
- Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 33.5 hours per week.
- Main Place of Work: Ty Dyfan Care Home, Barry.
To undertake the general minor maintenance tasks in the residential home including painting, decorating, health and safety checks and the maintenance of grounds and gardens. Provide a porter service; undertake the moving of equipment, delivery/collection duties and order/store stock.
About You
- Experience of maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, minor carpentry/gardening.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety issues.
- Knowledge of the needs of vulnerable people/older people.
- Knowledge and commitment to the concepts of Equality.
- Literate, numerate and able to interpret written and verbal instruction.
- Able to communicate well with members of the team and service users.
- Willingness to drive council vehicle if required.
- Positive and self-motivated.
- Sociable, compassionate ‘people person’.
- Flexible in approach to role, tasks and working hours.
- Physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks, including weeding, mowing/strimming, moving furniture etc.
- Willingness to undertake training as required.
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
