The Vale Learning Centre is based in Barry Library and offers free franchised provision of Essential Skills courses for adults, including English, maths and Digital Skills. We also provide ESOL courses for those looking to improve their English skills for work, family and life.
About The Role
- Pay Details: Grade 4 (Pt 5‑7) £25,583 – £26,403 full‑time pro‑rata; £13.26 – £13.69 per hour.
- Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 28 hours Monday – Thursday.
- Main Place of Work: Vale Learning Centre, Barry Library.
- Temporary Reason: This post is reliant on enrolments and fee income.
About You
The Vale Learning Centre seeks to appoint a friendly and outgoing clerical assistant to support the programme run in our centre at Barry Library. The applicant will need to be a great communicator with excellent organisational skills. You will need good technical skills using Excel, Word and Outlook, and an understanding of social media would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer service skills dealing with the public.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Managing email correspondence using Outlook.
- Understanding of data protection requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal).
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive teamwork environment.
- Demonstrate empathy with learners.
- Respond to changing priorities and demands.
