The predicted salary is between 26824 - 28598 £ per year.
Pay Details: Grade 5 SCP 8 - 12. £26,824 to £28,598 per annum pro rata.
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday.
Main Place of Work: Civic Office, Barry and other locations in the Vale of Glamorgan as required to undertake the post including hybrid working.
Responsibilities:
- To enhance positive and proactive relationships with existing and prospective private landlord partners and letting agents in order to maintain and increase supply of Private Rented housing available to the Council.
- To maintain a register of suitable temporary accommodation available to the Council to use as emergency housing.
Qualifications:
- Experience of working in housing in the voluntary, statutory or private sector.
- Experience of letting or managing tenancies in the private rented or social housing sector.
- Experience of supporting customers with financial difficulties.
- Experience of liaising with statutory, non-statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Knowledge of homelessness legislation and landlord and tenant law.
- A general knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a social landlord.
- Knowledge of the private rented sector, especially around Assured Shorthold Tenancies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the welfare benefits system.
- An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.

About the Housing Solutions Service: This post is situated within the Housing Solutions Team, its main functions are to support a team to maximise the use of the private rented sector, thereby increasing the housing options available for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness whilst managing the Council's temporary accommodation stock ensuring compliance of both clients and landlords.
