You will need:
- Experience of working within Development Management.
- At least 1 year of practising experience.
- Working knowledge of the planning system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to work to agreed deadlines and under pressure.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to organise a heavy workload.
- A degree level qualification in Planning (recognised by the RTPI) which would allow membership of the RTPI.
- To progress to Grade 8: Eligible for Chartered Membership of the RTPI (either through relevant Post Graduate Planning Qualification or via experience), or working towards membership.
- A commitment to high levels of customer service.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to high quality outcomes from the development control process.
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
- Computer literate and able to use a PC for letters and reports.
About us: The Service sits within a Planning Department under a Head of Service that reports to the Director of Place. Dealing with planning and related applications under the relevant provisions of planning legislation, including the preparation of reports and recommendations to Committee and/or the Head of Service and Operational Manager.
