About Us

The Big Fresh Catering Company provides healthy nutritious school meals at lunchtime, which is compliant with the Food and Nutrient standards set by the Welsh Government’s Healthy Eating in Schools (Nutritional Standards and Requirements) (Wales) Regulations 2013. In addition to this, we also provide a high quality Buffet/Function service to our schools, Café at the Penarth Pier Pavilion, weddings, external customers and companies.

About The Role

  • Pay Details: Grade 5, SCP 8 - 12 Pro Rata
  • Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 5 Days – 25 hrs per week, term time only
  • Main Place of Work: St Helens Primary Infant Site

Description:

The Big Fresh Catering Company is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Kitchen Manager. Number of meals served on site: approximately 75 - 100 daily. Applicants will be responsible for the daily running of the kitchen and should preferably have experience of large scale catering.

About You

  • You Will Need:
  • At least 2 years practical cooking experience in a busy catering environment within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to supervise staff to achieve the service objectives.
  • Ability to plan and organise the kitchen to its full potential.
  • Be able to use their own initiative in the day to day running of the kitchen.
  • Firm commitment to providing a quality catering service.
