About the Role

  • Pay Details: Grade 1 £12.65 per hour.
  • Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Monday to Friday. Term time 12.5 hrs/week over 38 weeks. Recess 10 hrs/week over 5 weeks.
  • Main Place of Work: Victoria Primary.
  • Temporary Reason and Responsibilities: Assist in providing an effective cleaning service to building clients. Cover other cleaners during holidays, sickness, staff shortages and other absences. Occasionally assist the Chargehand/Site Supervisor with training cleaning staff. Undertake all aspects of cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, steam cleaning, site specification cleaning, builders', recess cleaning and other tasks not normally stated in the site specification.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in the cleaning industry or related discipline/environment.
  • Basic understanding of various cleaning tasks required to provide an efficient and effective premises cleaning service.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to converse with members of the public and client officers.
  • Physically able to carry out manual and active labouring duties.
  • Ability to work independently and undertake duties effectively.
  • Positive and self-motivated with flexibility to respond to changes in priorities and demands.
  • Prepared to work irregular hours.
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
