Vale, Valleys and Cardiff Adoption Collaborative (VVC) is one of five regional Collaboratives which form part of the National Adoption Service in Wales. It performs a range of Adoption Agency functions on behalf of Merthyr Tydfil CBC, RCT CBC, Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council. The collaborative is responsible for the recruitment and assessment of adopters, the matching and placement of children with adoptive families and provides a range of support services for adopted adults and adoptive families.
About the Role
- Pay Details: Grade 11 SCP 40 – 43 £51,356-£54,495 p.a.
- Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
- Main Place of Work: Ty Jenner, Barry

To professionally manage the development and effective delivery of the Vale Valleys and Cardiff Regional Adoption Collaborative and its services for children, young people and their families through relationship-based practice. To provide operational and strategic management for Family Finding within the Vale Valleys and Cardiff Regional Adoption Collaborative.
About You
- A good standard of general education.
- A recognised Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work i.e. Degree, DipSW, CQSW etc.
- Registration with Social Care Wales
- Extensive experience of statutory childcare social work
- Experience of undertaking / supervising complex assessment and Court / statutory child care duties.
- Supervision of others.
- Commitment to relationship-based practice.
- A minimum of two years post qualifying management or leadership experience.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Experience of working with other professionals and agencies.
