About Us
The Building Services division provides a wide range of services to corporate clients and ensures all buildings are compliant with the latest legislation. As the Asbestos officer you will play a key role in advising, inspecting, and managing asbestos in the Council’s corporate buildings and schools. Working closely with the Council’s Health and Safety team you will ensure asbestos is effectively managed within our buildings.

About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 8, (£36,124 to £39,513)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37hrs/wk 08:00 to 16:00
Main Place of Work: The Alps Depot
Description: To provide safe and robust management of all Asbestos in the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Public Buildings. Engaging external consultants and supervising HSE licensed asbestos removal contractors. Responsible for ensuring a robust approach is taken to asbestos management, control and disposal within the Council’s Public Building stock.
About You
You will need:
  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent in a construction or health and safety related discipline.
  • BOHS P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings
  • IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Experience of managing and examining building inspection and testing certification in corporate buildings.
  • Working in a customer focused organisation.
  • Experience of liaising with internal customers to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
  • Experience in working with Asset Management Databases
