Due to an exciting period of restructure and expansion, Vale of Clwyd Mind Association is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Finance Officer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in supporting the financial management of a respected local mental health charity delivering essential services across the Vale of Clwyd.
Working closely with the Chief Finance Officer, you will support day-to-day finance operations, reporting, reconciliations, payroll administration, grants compliance and continuous improvement of finance systems. We actively encourage applications from people with lived experience of mental health problems. All staff receive in-depth, accessible inductions to ensure they feel confident and supported in their roles.
Responsibilities- Process invoices, payments, expenses, and income
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Bank reconciliations and control accounts
- Payroll administration
- Support monthly management accounts and reporting
- Assist with budgets, cashflow forecasting, and variance reporting
- Support grants claims and funder reporting
- Prepare information for audits
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and procedures
- Experience in a finance or accounts role
- Good working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- AAT qualified or studying
- Charity or not-for-profit experience
- Knowledge of charity accounting / SORP
- Company pension (5%)
- 6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays
