How you will Energise Our Team This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual looking for the next step in their career, or a Management Accountant looking to bring experience while enjoying the option of part-time working. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, and supporting day-to-day finance operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve but not be limited to:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements
- Review and reconcile balance sheet and GL accounts for each entity, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Post month-end journals and perform detailed financial analysis
- Analyse P&L against budget within agreed timeframes, providing insightful commentary for month-end reporting slides
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including accurate processing of daily receipts, system postings, customer and supplier reconciliations, timely invoice approvals, and payment authorisation
- Manage finance team inboxes and provide support and guidance to team members
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT and CCL returns, ensuring timely payments
- Process payroll following thorough data review and analysis
- Contribute to cash flow forecasting, budget setting, and financial planning
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation, maintaining records and supporting the annual financial audit process
- Identify and implement continual improvements to finance operations, reporting processes, and systems
The Spark we're Looking For Proven experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic finance environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently Part-qualified or finalist in ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, with a strong commitment to completing professional qualifications Solid experience in preparing management accounts, financial reporting, and providing insightful analysis to support business decision-making Experience working collaboratively within a finance team, supporting colleagues and contributing to team goals Experience with financial systems, particularly MS Dynamics 365 / Business Central, is desirable, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools
