The Contract Procurement Manager is a newly created position at Valda Energy, reporting to the Commercial Director. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing procurement activities for contractual agreements across multiple departments, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of procurement processes and strategies, alongside conducting market analysis to identify suppliers, industry trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance, while ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Collaborating with General Counsel and key stakeholders to review and approve contract terms, and effectively communicate project requirements and timelines.
  • Leading supplier selection processes, including pre-qualification and evaluation, while building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiating favourable commercial terms to deliver cost efficiencies, working closely with budget holders and finance to ensure alignment with procurement budgets.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with contracts and procurement activities, and providing guidance and support to internal managers on procurement-related matters.

  • A procurement qualification (CIPS or equivalent), or demonstrable relevant experience and knowledge.
  • Strong experience in contract management, with a solid understanding of contract law and experience negotiating at a senior level with customers and business partners.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
