The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Operating Model Design Consultant to join our UK Consulting Practice within the Operational Excellence capability. This is a client-facing role where you’ll help organisations redesign how they work — aligning people, processes, governance and technology to deliver business strategy. You’ll work on high-impact transformations, often alongside major technology implementations, helping clients move from ambition to execution.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll play a key role in shaping, designing and delivering operating models for our clients, including:
- Designing target operating models aligned to business strategy
- Leading or supporting organisation design, governance and role clarity initiatives
- Advising clients on operating model implications of strategic and technology decisions
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to diagnose issues and shape practical solutions
- Leading workstreams and contributing to successful programme delivery
- Supporting proposals, sales activity and client presentations
- Bringing outside-in thinking, market trends and best practices into client engagements
- Contributing to thought leadership, propositions and go-to-market assets
You’ll apply a range of tools and techniques, such as:
- Business architecture and capability mapping
- Organisation sizing and role design
- Governance and decision-rights design
- Process and customer journey mapping
- Business case development and requirements gathering
- Agile and lean methodologies
What We’re Looking For
We’re open on background, but ideal candidates will bring:
- Experience in operating model design and implementation
- Exposure to consulting, transformation or complex change programmes
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing skills
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery
- Experience working alongside or supporting technology-enabled transformations
- Commercial awareness, with experience supporting business development or proposals
You might come from management consulting, boutique advisory firms, or an in-house transformation role with strong consulting-style experience.
