We are seeking a Generative AI Consultant to join Valcon’s advisory team, helping clients move from AI ambition to practical, governed and scalable delivery

This is a hands-on advisory and delivery role for someone who can work with stakeholders to understand business problems and turn them into reliable AI solutions.

You will focus on designing, testing and refining prompts, context patterns and retrieval approaches that help commercial AI models produce outputs that are useful, repeatable and aligned to real business needs.

The role sits at the intersection of consulting, data and technology, with a particular focus on how Generative AI solutions are shaped through prompt engineering, context engineering, retrieval design and evaluation-led iteration.

You will combine strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills with practical experience of adapting commercial Large Language Models for enterprise use cases.

Working alongside clients, architects, engineers, data specialists and delivery teams, you’ll help define use cases, shape requirements, design AI-enabled experiences, improve output quality and support adoption into live enterprise environments.

This role is ideal for someone who is already hands-on with Generative AI and wants to grow into broader AI solution consulting; someone who enjoys experimenting with LLM-based solutions, can learn quickly from model behaviour, and wants to help clients turn emerging AI capability into meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with client stakeholders to understand business challenges, strategic objectives and opportunities for AI-enabled transformation.
  • Analyse business processes and operating models to identify opportunities for automation, augmentation and productivity improvement through AI technologies.
  • Experiment with prompting techniques, context design, grounding approaches and model configuration to adapt commercial Generative AI models for enterprise applications and improve the consistency, accuracy and usefulness of their outputs.
  • Design AI-enabled solutions using modern approaches including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), workflow automation, knowledge retrieval and AI-assisted user experiences.
  • Apply prompt-as-code, prompt testing and evaluation-led development practices to improve the accuracy, reliability, consistency and maintainability of Generative AI outputs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, data specialists and delivery teams to ensure solutions are robust, commercially viable and aligned to client objectives, putting forward your own ideas for creative solutions.
  • Define and monitor success criteria, evaluation frameworks and performance metrics to ensure AI solutions deliver measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Support clients in establishing appropriate governance, risk management and responsible AI controls, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant and trustworthy.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders across business and technology functions through delivering high quality outcomes.
  • Share lessons learned, reusable patterns, evaluation approaches and practical delivery insights with colleagues to help improve Valcon’s AI delivery capability.

Experience

  • Experience designing and delivering AI-enabled solutions that solve real business problems, from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation and adoption.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI technologies and patterns including Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation, AI agents, evaluation frameworks and model orchestration patterns.
  • Practical experience applying prompt engineering, context engineering, prompt-as-code and versioning practices, retrieval strategies, grounding approaches and evaluation methodologies to improve AI solution quality, reliability and performance.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into structured requirements, user stories, solution designs and delivery backlogs.
  • Ability to take a leading role in workshops to understand user needs and shape problems and solutions.
  • Ability to communicate and translate complex technical concepts clearly to executive, operational and technical audiences.
  • Experience analysing business processes and identifying opportunities for automation, augmentation and transformation using AI technologies.
  • Understanding of considerations around responsible and ethical AI usage including governance, security, regulatory landscape, and enterprise risk management practices.
  • Experience working within agile delivery environments and multidisciplinary teams spanning business, data, technology and change functions.
