Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using AWS cloud services.
- Build data integration solutions using tools such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and more.
- Work with structured and unstructured data, ensuring high data quality and governance.
- Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Optimise data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement best practices in data engineering, security, and DevOps (e.g., CI/CD, infrastructure as code).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data engineering standards and methodologies
Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on AWS cloud technologies
- Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Athena, EMR, and DynamoDB.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, agile project environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
