We are seeking an AI Solutions Consultant to join Valcon’s advisory team, helping clients move from AI ambition to practical, governed and scalable delivery.
This is a hands-on advisory and delivery role for someone who can work with senior stakeholders to understand business problems, identify high-value AI opportunities, shape solution approaches and guide multidisciplinary teams through implementation.
You will help clients cut through hype, make informed decisions about emerging AI technologies and build solutions that are useful, reliable and aligned to real business outcomes.
The role sits at the intersection of consulting, data and technology.
You will combine strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills with practical AI solution experience across Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation, context engineering, prompt-as-code, evaluation frameworks, workflow automation and agentic patterns where appropriate.
Working alongside clients, architects, engineers, data specialists and delivery teams, you’ll help define use cases, shape requirements, design AI-enabled experiences, improve output quality and support adoption into live enterprise environments.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be more than a technologist or advisor alone: someone who can shape the conversation, challenge thinking, build confidence and help clients turn emerging AI capability into meaningful transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with client stakeholders to understand business challenges, strategic objectives and opportunities for AI-enabled transformation.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery activities and design sessions to identify, assess and prioritise AI use cases based on business value, feasibility and organisational readiness.
- Translate complex business requirements into structured user stories, solution designs, delivery backlogs and implementation roadmaps.
- Advise clients on emerging AI technologies, industry trends and practical adoption approaches, helping them make informed decisions and avoid common pitfalls.
- Design AI-enabled solutions using modern approaches including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), workflow automation, agentic patterns, knowledge retrieval and AI-assisted user experiences.
- Apply context engineering, prompt-as-code and evaluation-led development practices to improve the accuracy, reliability, performance and maintainability of AI solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, data specialists and delivery teams to ensure solutions are robust, commercially viable and aligned to client objectives.
- Analyse business processes and operating models to identify opportunities for automation, augmentation and productivity improvement through AI technologies.
- Define and monitor success criteria, evaluation frameworks and performance metrics to ensure AI solutions deliver measurable outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Support clients in establishing appropriate governance, risk management and responsible AI controls, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant and trustworthy.
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders across business and technology functions, acting as a credible advisor throughout the lifecycle of an engagement.
- Contribute to Valcon’s advisory practice through proposition development, thought leadership, business development activities and the sharing of best practice.
- Support proposal development and innovation initiatives, helping shape new opportunities across technology, data and AI transformation engagements.
Experience
- Experience designing and delivering AI-enabled solutions that solve real business problems, from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation and adoption.
- Demonstrable experience delivering client-facing AI strategies and use cases, shaping recommendations and influencing client decision-making.
- Strong understanding of modern AI technologies and patterns including Large Language Models, Retrieval Augmented Generation, AI agents, evaluation frameworks and model orchestration patterns.
- Practical experience applying techniques including context engineering, prompt-as-code and versioning practices, retrieval strategies, grounding approaches, memory patterns and evaluation methodologies to improve AI solution quality, reliability and performance in a production enterprise environment.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into structured requirements, user stories, solution designs and delivery backlogs.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills with a track record of building trusted advisor relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate and translate complex technical concepts clearly to executive, operational and technical audiences.
- Experience analysing business processes and identifying opportunities for automation, augmentation and transformation using AI technologies.
- Understanding of considerations around responsible and ethical AI usage including governance, security, regulatory landscape, and enterprise risk management practices.
- Experience working within agile delivery environments and multidisciplinary teams spanning business, data, technology and change functions.
