About the company: Valco Melton is a world leader in adhesive application and quality assurance systems. We manufacture and support systems that are used by a range of different industries and supply industry partners in the Packaging, Automotive, and Product Assembly markets, among others. Owing to a strong order book and future growth projections, we have a requirement for a Field Service Technician to join our established team.
Role description: Servicing and installation of automated equipment on a UK- and Ireland-wide basis with the possibility of occasional work outside of the UK. This is a role that requires a flexible approach to working hours to meet customer demands, including overnight stays and a willingness to work occasional weekends. Initial training will be on the job shadowing the existing service engineers until self-sufficient. Ongoing training will be provided due to our wide range of product solutions. Note: the Valco Melton corporate office is located in Telford, Shropshire, and this position will be required to report to the office on days when you are not traveling.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- You should have electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience gained from working in fast-paced production environments in either a similar role as a service engineer/technician, or in a multi-skilled maintenance role that you would like to develop into a customer focused service engineering role.
- Capable of liaising with customers in a friendly professional manner.
- Able to write reports.
- Willingness to learn and a can-do approach that will follow the job through to completion.
- Able to show initiative and take ownership of tasks.
- Electrical and / or Mechanical Formal Qualifications.
- Fault-finding experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Installation experience.
