Valayo are working with a leading Lloyd's insurer looking to hire a Pricing Actuary focused on a few Specialty classes. This role offers you the opportunity to work directly alongside underwriters on a portfolio of complex specialty classes, supporting both account pricing and wider portfolio management activities.

The role combines case pricing, pricing model development, portfolio analysis and business performance monitoring. Depending on the class and type of business being written, the work can range from individual account pricing on large and bespoke risks through to the development and enhancement of pricing models used by UWs across the portfolio.

You will work closely with underwriters, helping to assess opportunities, monitor portfolio performance, challenge assumptions and support pricing decisions. There is also scope to contribute to wider pricing initiatives, model development projects and cross-class actuarial work across Insurance and Reinsurance.

This role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders, underwriting strategy and commercial decision making. This is an opportunity to join a well-established actuarial function whilst remaining close to the business and underwriting teams.

The firm is open to considering candidates from a range of backgrounds including:

  • Lloyd's and London Market Pricing
  • Commercial Lines Pricing
  • Reinsurance Pricing
  • Broking Analytics/Pricing teams

Exceptional candidates from Reserving or Capital backgrounds may also be considered where there is a clear understanding of pricing principles and a strong desire to move into pricing.
