This is an opportunity for a qualified Actuary to join the Risk function of a leading London Market insurance organisation, taking on a broad role across actuarial risk management.
What makes this role particularly interesting is the opportunity to help develop and shape the organisation's wider risk management capabilities. Rather than simply maintaining existing processes, you would have significant ownership in developing new approaches, identifying areas for improvement and strengthening how actuarial risks are assessed and managed across the business.
The role also offers considerable technical variety, with exposure to reserving, internal model validation, capital modelling, stress and scenario testing, as well as wider financial market and credit risk. You would be involved in assessing different risk exposures, challenging modelling assumptions and considering how emerging risks and wider market developments could impact the business.
There is also significant senior stakeholder exposure, working closely with teams across Reserving, Capital and Finance, as well as presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant Committees.
Importantly, this is an opportunity to join a developing Risk function where you would be able to bring your own ideas, influence how processes and frameworks evolve and take ownership of a number of important initiatives.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent)
- Strong General Insurance background, ideally within the Lloyd's/London Market.
- Reserving experience with an interest in moving into a broader Risk role, or existing Risk experience combined with strong technical reserving knowledge.
- Good understanding of Solvency II and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge technical assumptions and present findings to senior stakeholders.
