Practice Accountant (QBE) - Responsibilities

Accounts Preparation & Compliance

• Prepare financial statements for limited companies (FRS102 1A/FRS105), sole traders and partnerships, from source records through to completion
• Complete quarterly loan interest calculations, and prepare and submit VAT returns
• Handle Companies House filings and related statutory work
• Trust accounts exposure is a bonus, not a requirement - full training given

Client Relationships

• Respond directly to client queries and build long-term relationships with a loyal, largely HNW client base
• Attend client meetings (occasionally taking minutes) and travel to clients across the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and Derbyshire

Supporting the Team

• Assist the directors with ad hoc work, such as preparing documentation for client finance applications
• Prepare cashflows and budgets, and contribute to the firm's AML checks on new and existing clients

Practice Accountant (QBE) - Requirements

• Several years' hands-on general practice experience, ideally gained in a small or independent firm
• Comfortable preparing accounts from start to finish, not just reviewing software-generated output
• Working knowledge of VAT returns and general compliance; Xero and Taxcalc experience useful but not essential - training provided
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car, for travel to client sites
• Confident working directly with clients, including face-to-face meetings
