  • You will act as the trusted legal advisor on all areas of UK data protection law, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies while supporting the business through audits, governance activities and best practice initiatives.
  • Your responsibilities will include managing data subject requests, maintaining the UK Record of Processing Activities, overseeing Privacy Impact Assessments, supporting creation, update, and maintenance of privacy notices, overseeing Legitimate Interest Assessments and Privacy Impact Assessments, advising and supporting on international data transfers and acting as the primary point of contact with the Information Commissioner's Office.
  • You will advise on the compliant implementation of new systems, technologies and business initiatives (including AI), ensuring that data protection requirements are considered from the earliest stages of project development.
  • You will provide comprehensive legal support on a wide variety of commercial contracts, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer and supplier agreements, software licences, service agreements and distribution contracts.
  • As part of the Legal & Compliance team, you will help drive compliance programmes and awareness across areas such as anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, antitrust and artificial intelligence governance, while engaging with relevant regulatory authorities when required.
  • Through the development and delivery of engaging training programmes, you will raise awareness of legal and compliance obligations and help build a culture of integrity across the business.

  • You are a qualified Solicitor with post-qualification experience and have developed a strong foundation in commercial law within a reputable law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • You have practical experience advising on UK data protection matters, including interaction with the Information Commissioner's Office and management of data protection compliance activities, including AI risks and mitigations.
  • You combine strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to a wide range of stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience supporting wider compliance programmes, regulatory matters or technology-related projects would be advantageous, particularly within a commercially focused organisation.
  • You are highly organised, professional and self-motivated, with the confidence to manage competing priorities and the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
