KIA of East Hartford needs to hire a Service Dispatcher to plan, organize, lead and control the flow of service work through our high-volume Service Department in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs at a fair cost to the customer. Job Description
- Organize and control the flow of service work through the service department in a professional, timely manner.
- Work closely with the Service Manager daily to ensure processes are being followed by the team to maximize shop flow and profitability.
- Implement and maintain an effective dispatch system.
- Schedule shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
- Ensure proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause, and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date repair log.
- Prepare a list of needed service department equipment, supplies, and required repairs, and review it with the Service Manager as needed.
- Advise the Fixed Operation Manager of repetitive shortages so that corrective action can be taken.
- Ensure that Technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Maintain a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policy.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Automotive Service Dispatcher, Service Advisor or Technician experience is required with a proven track record.
- KIA experience preferred.
- Must be able to run dispatch at a high-volume service department.
- Must be able to coordinate with Shop Foreman.
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team.
- Organized and friendly personality with good customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage others.
- High school or equivalent.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident.
- Must pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, and drug screening.
