Join Horizon Specialist Contracting – Powered by Vadella

At Horizon Specialist Contracting, we specialise in working at height on industrial chimneys and tall structures, carrying out inspections, repairs, new installations and re-lining work for clients across the UK. As part of the Vadella Group, we’re backed by a growing national building compliance business, giving our employees access to greater investment, wider career opportunities and the chance to grow within a thriving, collaborative organisation.

We’re looking for a Steeplejack Mate to join our site teams, working alongside experienced Foremen and Supervisors on contracts throughout the UK.

Whether you’re already working at height or looking to build on your existing tickets, Horizon offers ongoing training, a safety-first culture and the chance to work on some of the most challenging structures in the country.

At Horizon, safety and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll work alongside experienced Foremen and Supervisors on varied, technically demanding projects across the UK, building your skills and qualifications as you go.

If you’re looking for a hands‑on role at height with a specialist business that’s part of a growing national group, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Taking part in site and in‑house Toolbox Talks, and being involved in Point of Work Risk Assessments.
  • Completing site documentation and using a Samsung work tablet to access site information and Toolbox Talk subjects.
  • Carrying tools, materials and equipment to work locations, including climbing ladders on tall structures.

  • Asbestos Awareness.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work at height, climb ladders on tall structures and carry tools, materials and equipment.
  • Good general fitness levels.
  • The ability to regularly lodge away from home to carry out contracts throughout the UK.
  • A full UK Driving Licence (preferred)

It would be an advantage if you also have:
